Born in 2001 in Fort Worth Texas to an attorney mother and professional musician father, Claire Hinkle grew up with music all around her. Learning turn of phrase from her dad, she leant her first chorus to one of his songs at the age of 7. In just a few years she began to gain comfortability and stage presence in performances with him. At the age of 15, as she began to develop sense of self & her own style, Claire began performing as a solo artist around her hometown.
After graduating high school in 2019, Claire moved to New York to study at The New School in Greenwich Village; graduating early in ‘22 with degrees in music and philosophy. During college she gigged at New York icons such as The Bitter End, always keeping a close connection with the Fort Worth music community through visits home and gigs at local venues with friends; a close knit family of musicians she was grateful to return to post-graduation. Upon returning to Texas, Claire formed a rock band that performed regionally for a few years.
After an inspiring visit to SXSW & LUCK Reunion ‘24, and being invited to perform with friends for the LUCK After Party at Poodies Roadhouse, Claire made the decision to return to her Country Americana roots. This special moment in time gifted her with a rediscovered appreciation of storytelling in song and she began to write. Those songs along with some connecting by mutual friends, brought her to the attention of Grammy Award winning producer Shooter Jennings.
And now, the adventure begins. It’s all happening!
